A multi-point meeting occurs when multiple sites dial into our bridge, a central hub that connects all the systems in one meeting. This kind of meeting is usually pre-booked and carries additional charges to use the bridge technology.
How the meeting ‘looks’ is selected by the client – either voice activated to broadcast who is talking moment by moment or in a split format where each party sits in a portion of the screen at the same time. A large multi-point meeting might be customized by adding projectors, screens and a sound system depending on what kind of information is being distributed during the meeting.
A common use of multi-point meetings is to discuss strategy in which case each site needs to be able to talk and listen. Other times one site may simply be giving information like a focus group to many sites who are only watching and listening. |
